I"ve been having trouble starting my car,it took three times with the turn of the key to start it seems like the starter was,nt catching and ihad to hold the brake down to start it. Really not sure please help me!

from what i understand of your question, i belive you are saying when you turn your key it sometimes doesnt want to start (no noise) then if you press on the brake pedal (out of frustraion) and jiggle the key it may work sometimes.  it has nothing to do with your brake pedal (the brakes just act as a way for your frustration to not go through your floorboard :)) i belive your problem is the ignition (where your key is insterted) or the actual starter itself.  i would have this taken to a local garage, or even a trusted friend mechanic and have them test what i have suggested.  if you can take your starter out, you can get it tested for free at most auto stores.  if its not the starter then its the ignition.  good luck and let me know your results!  xxp_sebby@yahoo.com
