Nissan Repair: Nissan Pathfinder Automatic Transmission Case, nissan pathfinder, self diagnosis

Question
Hi Von, thank you for the answer.

And what about self diagnostic of the A/T?
Please, let me know how to do it and where to find corresponding code explanation, because I'm not in America and can't go in any service centers here, the only way is to do it myself.
I'll apreciate your detailed answer and explanation.

Regards,
Levan

-----Question-----
Hi Von,

I have 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, 3.0 V6, 4WD, A/T, Cruise, AC..
I wanted to change oil filter of A/T, removed all bolts around the case, but there is exhaust pipe coming from right set of cylinders which impedes the case removal. Is there any other way to remove the case without dismounting the pipe? If not, which is the easiest way to do it?

Besides, I was trying to find complete guide on how to run self diagnostic of A/T on this site - no results. Please, indicate me where to find this topics, or how to do it myself.

Many thx in advance!

Levan

Levan,

No, remove the pipe and then it is easy.  Remove the pipe by removing the exhaust bolts.

Answer
Levan,

You need a code scanner to pull the codes.  You can purchase one on-line for around $65 bucks.  Try the following link for the vehicle self diagnosis.  Reference the codes and this is how it is done. http://autorepair.about.com/library/images/bl253a-lib.htm
