Nissan Repair: Ignition Coil Misfire???, nissan maxima, nissan dealer

Question
HEre is the problem James. I own a 2000 Nissan Maxima and the SES light came on three days after i bought it. I have had three diagnostic tests done. The first time coded for P1126 and P1320. The radiator temperature sensor was changed the first time but the SES light came back on in a week. Did another diagnostic test coddedP1320 and 1126 again. I was referred to my Nissan dealer to find the exact ignition coil misfire. Took it to my Nissan dealer and put on diagnostic machine. Coded P1320 and P1126 told me it was a Thermostat. But the car is not overheating and warm heat coming out of my car. I asked about the igniton coil misfire and he replied it isnot coding for the exact ignition coil misfire. I am tired of paying these mechancis to find the problem Is there additional testing to see which ignition coil is misfiring. Also the symtoms i am having is about once a month after I start my car the engine idles rough, i drive about 2 miles down the road it idles good. From what i have reasearched the symptoms my car is exhibiting seems to be a ignition coil misfire. But how can i convince these people that is what it is. Please help me James I cannot afford all this. Other than that my Nissan Maxima is a great car. Thank you so much.   Tammie

Answer
Testing ignition coil.
Yes, there is a test.
Find a person that you dont like very much and have them hold on to the coil wire while you crank it. If they fly more than 30 feet, its a gooooood coil.
I am just kidding.
I like to try to lighten the mood to problems people are having.
You can test the coil one of two ways.
1. Replace the coil.
2. Disconnect all wires (with the key off) and test the coil for resistance using an ohm meter.
