Nissan Repair: fuel pump, fuel pump relay, nissan pathfinder

i have a 1988 nissan pathfinder and my question is. sometimes when i turn the key on my pump will turn and it will start and other times the pump wont come on there for it wont start.can you please tell me whats wrong.

Sounds like the pump is becoming faulty.Have you replaced it recently?
If not, plan on replacing it.
You can check the fuel pump relay for resistance and compare it to the vehicle specifications. If its too much out of the specified resistance values, you will need to replace the relay. Then see if the intermittent problem is solved before replacing the fuel pump.
