Nissan Repair: Infiniti I30 question, cylinder misfire, service engine soon light

The "Service Engine Soon" light has come on in my 2000 I30.  The car has 61,000 miles on it and I had this problem before, about 2 years ago. When I took it to the dealership to have it investigated they told me they had to reset the computer that controls the emissions system.  Is this a serious problem?

Take the car to Autozone or Checker and they will check the code for free.  Or, buy your own scanner and you can read and clear codes.  Scanners start at $65 bucks.  Once you have the codes email me back.  I would probably think it was the coils and you will get a multiple cylinder misfire as the 2000 was known for this.  But, I am only guessing since I do not have the codes.  Email me back with the codes and I will tell you what you need to do.  Have a good one.
