Thanks Dinger.
Since we last talked, the guys at cottman dropped the pan and found "brass" shavings. They will rebuild for no more than what it would cost to put a rebuilt one into it. I wanted more time to make some decisions and drove the car home... slowly.
I appreciate your offer. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Dinger,
Cottman came up with 2 codes on my 94 Nissan Pathfinder. It showed a 45 [ fuel injection? ] and a  10 [ Solenoid A ]. They plan to drop the pan tomorrow to look for any contamination. They mentioned if the the pan was clean... no shavings .. they would feel like replacing the solenoids would be a good move. [ they thought the chance of no contamination was slim... with the way the solenoids were being targeted with the codes.
I'll let you know what the pan shows.

Hi Scott,

Tell them I am the manager of the W. Charleston store in Las Vegas. Have them call me and I will help you out.

Answer -
Well Scott,

"Shavings" are a natural fact in automatic transmissions and it's against company policy to tell someone they need an overhaul due to shavings in the pan. Unless of course there is a recognizable part on the magnet! I would just have them replace the solenoid and clear the codes. See how that goes before I had them overhaul it. Now saying that, you might not let them know where I work! LOL

Answer
Hi Scott! LOL

I really hope this works, I had a 95 SE and I lost second gear and reverse 5 miles after having it flushed. At the time I was with Aamco and they were running a promotion on flushing and selling all the dealers a machine to do this. My car was the guinea pig. At least they sent me a free overhaul kit. LOL
