Nissan Repair: 2000 maxima SE, car wont start, service engine soon light


Question
everything was checked in the car . took the car to an ase certified technician an put the computer on the car the computer was saying communication error. the ase technician said the computer was not getting current. check the cable for the computer and current is going to the computer.still wondering why the car is rolling over but not starting.please help me with this problem all relay switches are operational.

i have a 2000 maxima se i was driving and the car just cut off on me .i try starting the car numerous of times but the car wont start. the battery isnt dead no service engine soon light is on everything coming on in the car an everything working as normal execpt when i notice the dash board lights not coming on please help me find this problem

If the engine will not turn over over then it is the starter.  If you crank the engine and it does not start then I would check for fuel or spark.  So, check these two things and get back with me.  I would check the battery at the positive side to make sure the fuses are in good order since that is what powers up everything first.  And, if there is an overload that is what blows first.

OK check the key that you are using by using your other key.  Somtimes the body control module and the key have to be reprogrammed.  If you use your other key and it starts have the original key reprogrammed.  The anti-theft system will keep the computer from getting power.
