Nissan Repair: 1994 Pathfinder VSS, vehicle speed sensor, speedometer cable

My speedometer stoped working in my 94 pathfinder. The code said vss or curcuit problem. I have now replaced the vss and still no speedo...Any sugestions on what to do next?

Rob,

Replace the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission.  This is the most common cause of the problem.  The computer picks up the vehicle speed from the instrument cluster but the signal comes from the sensor and it is located on the transmission where the speedometer cable used to be.
