Nissan Repair: Miss and backfires 1983 ZXT, vacuum lines, air meter

Question
The vehicle idles fine, until you drive the car.
After the temp rises it seems to go away somewhat.  I have replaced plugs, wires, some of the vacuum lines. Any suggestions ?

Answer
Jim,

Check the distributor to see if there is oil in the distributor.  Second, make sure that all the firing going to the distributor is not grounding out.  If some of the wires are cut and grounding this could cause the problem.  Also, check the intake hose from the air meter to the throttle body for cracks.
