Nissan Repair: 94 Altima starts & stumbles, fuel pump relay, knock sensor

Question
I have a 94 Altima with 240,000 miles. The engine will start then stumble & die and will not accellerate at first. If you let it idle for a few seconds it will take accelleration. It seems to miss at times while driving hwy speed.  The following have been changed with new parts: distributor, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, ignition coil. It had oil in the distrib. & it set a #34 code (knock sensor code. Did not chg knock sensor. Could this be the problem?

Answer
Tommy,

The problem is with cold enrichment of the engine when cold.  I would replace the temperature sensor that the computer uses to sense this.  Also, clean the throttle body.  If the knock sensor code does not reset then the code was due to the oil in the distributor.  That code sets due to the erratic timing associated with the oil on the pickup and shutter wheel.
