Nissan Repair: 1986 300zx turbo wont start!?!, crank angle sensor, fuel pressure gauge

Question
Hello, you probably don't remmber, but I asked you this same question before and tried fixing the problem following your suggestion. You suggested replacing the Crank angle sensor and I did replace it but the problem still persists. I have no spark, car will crank but not start, ran fine before I parked it and all of a sudden stoped working when I tried starting it up 8hrs later. Replaced entire distributor, but still no change. Could it be a falty power transistor (small part located above the coil) or coil? thanks for your time.

Answer
Kouji,

If you are not getting spark then the transistorized module could be defective.  If you get a Haynes manual there is a test to see if the part is defective by using a volt ohm meter.  Also, check to see that you have fuel pressure.  Get a fuel pressure gauge and screw it into the rail.  Turn the key to on, you do not have to start the car, and see if the fuel lines pressurize.  Other things to check are the timing belt to see if it is broke and the intake hose between the air meter and the throttle body for cracks.  Unmetered air and the car will not start.
