Nissan Repair: 2000 Maxima Seat Belt, infiniti qx 56, wear gloves

Question
The backseat seat belt has been pulled out to the end and will not retract.  Any suggestions?  I've tried pulling it to get it to catch and retract, but I've had no luck.

My brother has an Infiniti QX 56 and I had to take the belt reel loose to get it to retract.  Basically, you have to take the seat out to get to where the belt bolts in and take the bolt loose and then you can get the belt to feed back in under its own power.  Wear gloves and or keep you hands out of the works since the belt rolls up fast once it gets un-hung.
