Nissan Repair: Pulsar Headlights, limit switch, headlight switch

Question
We just purchased an 89 pulsar that seems to have a small
headlight problem. With your knowledge, I'm sure you know, it has
the automatic headlights that flip up when you turn them on and
flip back down when you shut them off. Our problem is that they
don't flip back down when shut off. We have tried multiple different
combinations of turning them off (ie. the ignition, the switch, and
any other combo we could come up with) They are still in the up
position. Any suggesions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
for your time and your contribution to this great sight.

Answer
Josh,

There are three things that can cause the problem.  If the headlight switch is defective it can cause the problem and with the years on the car this is a possibility.  The second is the relay needs to be replaced and the third is the limit switch on the headlight motor can be defective.  I would start with the relay first as this is most common.
