Nissan Repair: 01 Pathfinder auto windows problem, lithium grease, silicone spray

Question
I have an '01 Pathfinder and have recently been having troubles with the power windows.  At first the front drivers window was slow to go down when it was cold outside. This still happens and my window goes up just fine when I do not use the "auto-up" feature on the switch.  When I use this, the window goes up all the way and then comes back down about 3 inches.  It does it on the passenger side too.  Either window can be put up by not using the "auto-up" feature.
What can be causing this?

Answer
Cooper,

I bet the Pathfinder is run through the car wash and not washed by hand, at home.  The crud from the carwash builds up in the tracks and drys out the areas that the windows slide on.  Try some silicone spray and see if the window will slide easier.  Also, use lithium grease on the tracks and that should make them slide up and down easier.  You might have to remove the doorpanels to get at the tracks to get all areas.  But, I have done this with many cars that are not washed by hand.  The carwash uses recycled water and the buildup is hard on the window tracks.
