Nissan Repair: Radiator Replacement 95 Altima, radiator replacement, radiator cap

Question
How complicated of a process is it to replace the radiator?
Is this an owner repair or do I need to take it to the shop?
Thank You

Answer
Tim,

The radiator is really easy to replace.  Take the two bolts that hold the radiator on the tip off and disconnect the radiator hoses, both top and bottom.  If you have an automatic transmission you will need to remove the two hoses from the bottom of the radiator too.  Now, disconnect the fan wiring to the radiator and lift the radiator out.  Remove the fans and install them on the new radiator and install the new radiator in the car and hook all the hoses and the wiring and refill the radiator with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water.  Also, be sure to purchase a new radiator cap and you are done.
