Nissan Repair: 95 Nissan Altima dash lights, nissan altima, dash lights

I have a 95 altima.  I went to drive it last night and when i turned on the lights the dash lights and the stereo lights along with the gear box lights all went out.  All other lights in and on the car work fine.  The dash lights occasionally come on and off as u drive.  I think it may be a short.  What do u think?  What is the best way to go about fixing this problem?

This is a common problem and it related to the dimmer switch for the instrument lights.  Look on the dash and find the dimmer knob for the instrumnent lights and remove it and bridge the circuit.  If the instrument lights come on, with the lights on, you have found your problem.  replace the switch.
