Nissan Repair: Problem with Nissan Maxima -89 V6 3.0 motor, nissan maxima, pressure gauge

Question
Ott,

You will have to be more specific on the engine not starting.  Is it not turniing over?  It could be that the battery developed a slow leak and all the acid leaked out.  Second, since it was run with a messed up radiator did it overheat?  If so there could be bearing damage and that could take a while to develop.  Email me back with what is going on when you attempt to start.  But, my bet is on the battery or starter if the engine was not overheated.

It is turning over. So the engine is dead?

Answer
Ott,

If the engine turns over then you need to check to see if the car is getting fuel and spark.  Fuel pressure is easy to check with a pressure gauge.  The coils can be checked with a volt meter.  Since the car was smacked the fuse or fuse links could have been damaged and that would cut power to the ignition.  Yes, the car would turn over but not start since it was not getting electrical power to the coils.
