Nissan Repair: raising Idle speed, nissan sentra, sentra

Hello again Mr. Sudderth,
I first just wanted to say thanks for answering my last email about my sentra, It was the distributor, oil went all the way into the cap.. anyway, here's the ?... how do I raise the Idle speed on the 1993 nissan sentra? has the 1.6 liter engine... thanks..

There is a screw on the intake at the opposite end of the intake as the throttle and this is an air bleed valve.  Rotate the screw counter-clockwise, with the engine running, and the speed will increase at idle.  But, only do it a quarter of a turn at a time as it is really sensitive.  And, if you do it too much the car will fail smog check.  So, remember where you started if you need to get it smog checked.
