Nissan Repair: 2002 Nissan Maxima Bose System, nissan maxima, radio mode

Question
I own a 2002 Nissan Maxima with a Bose Sound System. The problem is that when I am playing a CD in the 6 disc in dash CD changer and I either hit a bump or brake hard the front driver's side speaker in the door stops working. The passenger side speaker and subwoofer all work fine, but the driver's side speaker doesn't. When this happened I turned the Fader all the way to the left and the audio that came out of the front driver's side speaker was very raspy and at an incredibly low volume, even when I turned the volume up. The only speaker that I can tell is affected is the front driver's side speaker in the door. Also, this only occurs when I am listening to a CD. Another problem that I have had is CD skipping when I hit even a slight bump or brake slightly hard.

Answer
Kyle,

The six disc in-dash CD player has issues and they never seem to stay working properly.  If the speaker works fine in radio mode and screw up only when playing the CD player function then the head unit is needing servicing.  If you are still under warranty make Nissan correct the problem.  If not, look in the local phone book for a repair place that specializes in factory automotive sound systems.  The unit is actually made by Clarion.
