Nissan Repair: 95 Nissan 240sx ignition/electrical problems, nissan 240sx, calbes

Question
I have a 95' Nissan 240sx SE with a manual transmission. When I insert the key and turn, nothing happens even though the clutch is engaged. My dash, radio, and headlights aren't functioning. I had previously replaced the battery and it worked fine for about 2-3 days but after, the battery is completely drained. It happened 3x already, and the outcome is the same. When this occurs, I usually jump start the car and 90 percent of the time, the engine turns over. I had recently taken it to my mechanic and he told me that it might be my starter/ignition, but what I don't get is whats causing my battery to drain. He checked the electrical and distributor and everything checks out. Previously, I was in an accident 3 months ago. I don't know if that helps. It worked fine for 2 months after the accident, but lately the problems begun to start. Any suggestions are really appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Tuan,

Check the alternator output.  If the voltage it below 14 then you need an alternator.  Now, you could have a loose wire from the accident where it connects to the battery.  Check the positive terminal and look at the fuses and calbes to make sure all is tight and correct.
