Nissan Repair: 90 Nissan Maxima Radiator, nissan maxima, upper tank

I Have a 1990 Nissan Maxima. On the Top of my radiator I have a long thin crack that the anti-frezze keeps sizzleing out of. My question is Can I fix it without replacing it. If not How can I keep the car running until I can afford another radiator. Please help. I have no idea about cars expectially mine since I just got it in Feb. Thank you. Alyssa

You can take the radiator out and have the upper tank replaced.  If you think the crack could be fixed you could get five minute JB Weld and then scuff up the tank on both sides of the crack and put JB Weld on it.  Do not get JB Weld on the fins or where the tank connects to the core or you will have difficulty replacing the tank.  But, the replacement of the tank is only about $50 bucks if you take it out and take it to a shop.
