Nissan Repair: Car turns off, nissian altima, pressure gauge

What does it mean when my 2002 Nissian Altima, when am driving the motor just shuts off? It doesnt start back up a right away but it does then the rpm's drop off and then shuts down again?

You are going to have a couple of things here that could be causing this.  The first one is fuel and the second electrical.  If it shuts off and then starts up again and the engine stumbles and shuts off again would probably be the fuel pump.  You will have to check the fuel pressure on this one and since Nissan deleted the fuel pressure port the only way is to buy the $100 dollar adapter and $50 dollar pressure gauge or take it to a shop that has one.  The pump, filter and regulator are all in the tank.  And, they can be accessed by removing the back seat and the metal cover on the floor.  Under there is where the fuel pump is...  Good luck and let me know how it goes.
