I need to know what to do with hand brake adjustment when I replace rear brake pads on Nissan Maxima 1997.

If you have not adjusted the hand brake you should have to do nothing.  But, if the hand brake is too tight when new pads are installed you need to be getting like five clicks when you pull up on the hand brake.  If you have to loosen the hand brake you can get under the car and loosen the bolt that goes to the cables that go to the back brakes until the proper travel is gained.
