Nissan Repair: radiator, radiator leak, lower tank

Question
i have a radiator leak in a 2000 nissan maxima 6cyl.
the radiator looks fairly new the leak seems to be coming from a small hose on the passenger side on the bottom of the radiator but when i disconected the hose red transmission fluid came out.apon looking closer it seems to be leaking from behind the fitting the hose was on.so that brings me to my question does this fitting screw into the radiator or is it connected. right at the radiator there is a nother bolt shape.as i said the radiator is fairly new and in good condition so its hard to tell i am almost sure this is my leak but i dident wanna start turning stuff and have it break off and make me need a whole new radiator.

Answer
Joseph,

The radiator has plastic tanks and they can be replaced.  Take the rariator out and have the lower tank replaced.  They will re-gasket the lower tank where the lines go on.  Now, you could attempt to remove the nut and regasket it yourself and since you already know you can get another tank you could call around to see what shop can get that done for you before you attempt the reseal of the transmission cooler.
