Nissan Repair: 94 pathfinder intermittent starts, alarm starter, pathy

Question
I have also experienced this problem with my pathy not starting. I found a guy on another site that had determined his problem to be with the factory alarm, starter interupt function. He gave some details about how to disconnect that function with the wiring harness under the stering column, I tried but was not sure which set of wires he was talking about.
The thinking was that the alarm is located under the driver seat, but also  is located just above the catalytic converter separated by the floor board of course but the heat still affects the alarm. I actually reached under the seat from the rear and found a little hole in the top of the alarm box I reached inside and pushed on a button or switch  and the alarm beeped (maybe reset or something)and I have now only experienced this once more since. I would appreciatte an expert opinion on this whole senario and posiblly an expaianation of how to by-pass the start interupt of the alarm.

Answer
Gil,

I would remove the box and insulate it with a heat resistant blanket.  Be sure to bolt it back down as the chasssis is the ground.  Another approach would be to relocate the converter.  I did this once on a 200SX that was cooking the carpet and wiring.
