Nissan Repair: Nissan Altima 98, nissan altima, temp gauge

Question
I have a Nissan Altima 98 Gxe, although it is a great car i am starting to have a little bit of trouble with it. First off as i am accelerating it the car kind if lags HP. Also as i am accelerating the temp gauge starts to drop. This only happens when i accel, when i let off of the gas the temp gague goes right back to normal.

What cani do to fix this if anything. Pls help

I would perform a tuneup to baseline the engine.  If the temperature gauge is dropping when you accelerate I would be looking for a bad sensor if the other gauges are not moving down too.  If the other gauges are dropping too I would assume that the alternator is going out.
