Nissan Repair: 93 Nissan Sentra, nissan sentra, clutch pedal

Question
Car sometimes wont start like it has a bad battery connection? I have replaced the starter& battery and problem still exist but it is intermittent. I have also bypassed the clutch pedal switch but problem still exist. I have been told I may have a sticking relay ? does this car have a relay? I have double checked all battery cables at the starter/block & battery just acts like it's not getting any fire

Answer
Ken,

There is a good chance that the ignition switch is on its way out.  I would check to see if the starter is getting fire when the car won't start.  Do this by getting a test light and touching the starter terminal on the starter and see if it glows when the key is turned.  If not change the relay for the starter first.  If that does not do it replace the ignition switch.
