Nissan Repair: 1993 nissan maxima wont start, nissan maxima, booster cable

Question
Hi,
I have had no problems with my 1993 Maxima SE since I bought it in March of this year. I went out to go to work this am & it won't make a sound. The ignition alert comes on, the radio works. I tried to boost it, there is juice in the battery, I clicked the booster cable ends together & there is spark. Does it sound like the alternator? Is there a way to test it without it running? And last is it easy to change? Please help!

Answer
Shelby,

If there is no click the starter interlock on the shifter could be going out or the starter could be bad.  Check the interlock by turning the key to start and run the shifter from park to neutral and back and see if it starts.  If it does the interlock switch should be replaced.  If it does not change the starter.
