Nissan Repair: 2000 Nissan Xterra, nissan xterra, radio work

Question
My husband is driving and the truck engine simply dies.  No sputtering- no symptoms to speak of- the lights all work- it seems to "want" to start but won't turn over.We purchased this used from a dealer 9 months ago, had the oil changed once, put at least 6000 miles. The truck seemed to have slow acceleration prior .

Answer
Kari,

Does the vehicle have an aftermarket alarm?  If it does you could have a wire loose on the ignition circuit.  If you have the factroy system I would be check ing the battery for proper charge and the grounds to the battery and engine block.  Also, check the output of the alternator to see that is has around 14 volts while the engine is running.  If it died and will not crank are there any lights or does the radio work?  These lead to the thought that the battery is defective or there is a loose connection.
