Answer
Martin,

Replace the headlight switch.  I just did one of these a month ago and that was the problem.  There are contacts that get burnt out in the switch assembly.  It is easy to replace as all you need is a phillips screwdriver to take the plastic cover off the steering columm.  The steering wheel does not have to come off and once the plastic cover is removed all you need to do is remove two screws that hold the switch on and unplug it and replace it with a new one.  Once you have the old one off you will see the defective contacts.  If you have time you can get one off rockauto.com as they are really cheap.  Nissan will charge around $100 for the switch.
