Nissan Repair: 87 300z Will not start by..., nissan 300zx, 300z

87 300z Will not start by key but when using a screwdriver to the starter it starts 5 speed While started can turn the key to off position and it shuts off Check relays Could the ignition be bad even though has right voltage.Nissan 300zx 5 speed been sitting two years

James, it sounds like the relay is bad to the starter.  Or, the ignition switch or the clutch interlock is defective from sitting for so long.  Check the clutch switch by bridging it and then turning the ignition switch.  Also, you can see if you are geeting power from the key at this location.  Basically, you are going to backprobe the circuit until you find where it stops.
