Nissan Repair: 2000 Maxima drivers seat stuck!, air inlet hose, coolant leaks

Question
I have two problems with my 2000 Max:

1. The electric drivers seat forward/back control does not work and is stuck all the way back. All other controls for that seat work EXCEPT forward/back. Help!

2. The car is running very hot and the fan runs constantly. Thermostat?

Answer
Take the switch apart and bridge the circuit.  If the seat moves then it is the switch.  If no movement then it is the motor.  Yes, change the thermostat.  But a Nissan one and you will be really happy with the quality.  It even comes with a new neck.  The thermostat is on the passenger side where the hose connects to the engine.  After you change the thermostat be sure the bleed the air from the system using the bleeder screw on the housing neck on the drivers side.  It is below the air inlet hose and it takes a common screwdriver.  You can look down, below the hose where the other radiator hose connects to the engine.  Open the screw counter-clockwise a turn ot two to let the air out of the system and when coolant leaks out tighten the screw.
