Nissan Repair: 95 Nissan Maxima, vehicle speed sensor, nissan maxima

My speedometer and odometer are shot. Normally I wouldn't mind exept for inspections,and nobody wants to talk about these parts in books or elsewhere.I was wondering if this had to with the transmission or if it could be elctrical.

It is probably your vehicle speed sensor that is on the transmission that has gone bad.  I would replace it first.  It is a little over $50 bucks and is easy to replace.  Only one bolt holds it in and you can see if from the engine compartment.
