Nissan Repair: re: 1996 Nissan Sentra, alarm/kill switch., nissan sentra, kill switch

Question
How can I disconnect the alarm/kill switch from my daughter's 1996 Nissan Sentra? The car will start when jumped, but as soon as cables are taken off, it dies, I have trouble-shot everything else, and am sure this is the problem, just don't know how to disconnect, it is a keyless entry type of alarm

Answer
Jennifer,

If the alternator has been checked and is good check out the following.

If the alarm is an aftermarket one you can wire around the switch or remove the system all together.  It is just a matter of getting under the dash and removing all the wires that connect to your car from the alarm.  And, this is important, you have to make sure to wire the power feed wire back together when the alarm is removed.  That is the wire they cut in half to enable them to open the circuit that kills the car.
