Nissan Repair: Nissan Pathfinder 1995 - odometer broken, nissan pathfinder, mechanical type

Question
How can I do this myself?

Answer
Karen,

If this is the electronic odometer you are going to have to take it in if you cannot find one at a wrecking yard.  If it is the mechanical type you can get parts from a wrecking yard and take it apart and replace the bad parts.  The important thing here is the mileage has to reflect the original miles when you are done or you are going to be breaking the law.  If you cannot make it read properly you will have to get the DMV to give you a sticker showing the original miles and then the miles when the replacement was installed.  I have seen this done and since your car is ten years old it is not like someone is going to depreciate the value of your vehicle.  The label would be affixed to the drivers door area where the VIN is located.  Either way it is up to you.
