Nissan Repair: emergency lights flashing randomly, nissan altima, power locks

I have a 2000 Nissan Altima. Despite what the car is doing, whether I am driving it or it is parked and turned off, emergency lights start flashing spontaneously and power locks unlock also. This problem happens on and off, basically it can flash for 5 seconds and stop and not flash again for a while, but then it starts again.

Either the body control module is defective or the alarm keyfob is shorting out.  It is alarm related and that is where I would start looking.  If it were me a quick check is to change to your second remote.  If the problem goes away you found the problem.  If not it is going to be more expensive and that is the BCM.
