Nissan Repair: Possible Fuel Injector Leak?, 1990 nissan 240sx, nissan 240sx

Question
Hello.  I have a 1990 Nissan 240SX with 65,000 miles.  About 1.5 years ago, I had my fuel injectors replaced because they were leaking.  I now smell some exhaust and gas from my car as I start the engine.

Could this be a recurring problem?  Is it worth it to fix or is it time for a new car?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Answer
Hula,

If the car smells like gasoline I would check the fuel system.  Remember that there are many places for fuel to leak from.  Now, this is not the same as the smell that comes out of the exhaust so if you are smelling exhaust you might just have a rusted out exhaust pipe or muffler.  So, check out what the smell is and if it smells like when you put gas in the car I would be looking for a small gas leak.  It could be a fuel line that is damaged or just a hose that is rotted out.  If the car runs good and this is the only problem just get it corrected and you should be good.
