Nissan Repair: OBD II Manufacture Code, obd ii scanner, coils

Question
I connected an OBD II scanner to my 2000 Maxima and it came out with a manufacturer's code of -
P1320.  What does this code indicate.  Thanks!

Answer
Ted,

This code has to do with the ignition circuit and since you have a 2000 Maxima I bet your coils are going bad.  I have a 2000 Maxima and this is what was wrong with mine and others I have worked on.  You can order the coils through courtesynissan.com and if you are not in Texas you save the cost of the sales tax.  However, if you choose to buy them elsewhere I would go to a dealer to get them as the old ones will fail just like the ones that are on your car.  Nissan made a change to the coils to make them last longer.  It is really easy to change them and there is nothing to remove to access them except the cover on the front valve cover.  Once that is off the three in the front can be changed by unplugging one at a time and taking off the ten millimeter bolt.  Just pull the coil out and replace it with a new one.  The back ones require an extension to get to the bolt but they are just as easy.  It took me less than thirty minutes.
