Nissan Repair: transmission/clutch, throwout bearing, clutch pressure plate

Question
i recently noticed that when i press the clutch down (either in gear or neutral)that there is a vibrating/humming.  I recently got the transmission fluid changed but this happened about a week before the change. I can also feel this vibration on the stickshift as well.  I am not not what to get looked at or not.  My biggest concern is the transmission dumping on me.

Answer
I would verify that the fluid is at the correct level and the correct fluid was put in when you had it changed.  But, from what you describe the noise is when you have the clutch pressed.  This is the throwout bearing that would be making the noise.  I do not know what your year or model is but they are basically the same.  If you have over 100,000 miles on the clutch it might be time to go and get a clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing installed.  No, you do not have to do it now.  But, if the noise gets worse and if it is the throwout bearing it will you might put your pennies away to offset the cost.
