Nissan Repair: oxygen sensors, oxygen sensors, frontier 2

Question
I have a 2001 Frontier 2.4L 4cyl. 106000 mi. I'm going to replace the oxygen sensors. I looked at the Bosch sensors, they are cheaper than Nissan, my question is do you think the universal type Bosch is as good as the OEM Bosch or should I use Nissan? Also removal of the sensors, should I spray with WD40 or some other type of solvent to loosen them, and should I put an anti seize compound on when I install them? Thanks Rich

Answer
Yes, use aluminized anti-seize compound and an aftermarket is as good as Nissan.  But, if you have to splice the wires make sure that they are the same length when you are done and be sure to solder the connections and use heat shrink tubing to seal the connection.  Remember that oxygen sensors are self generating and any excessive resistance like making the wire longer than the factory one or corrosion will screw with the resistance.
