Nissan Repair: Nissan Maxima Timing Belt, nissan maxima gxe, nissan maxima

Question
I was informed that there was a Timing Belt change in the production of the Nissan Maxima GXE on 07/93. I have a 1994 Maxima GXE VG30E. I was wondering how I can tell which Timing Belt is right for me. The one with the deep teeth or the one without it. All it says on the website is to make sure you get the right one.

Thanks,
Ari

Answer
It sounds like you have the one with the deep teeth.  I always buy Nissan timing belt components to be sure that the parts fit.  Aftermarket timing belts are not worth the money. Also, if you are in there doing the timing belt I would go with a new tensioner pulley and waterpump.  Be sure to rotate the engine over to top dead center before you take the timing belt cover off and change the belt.
