Nissan Repair: 2002 Altima headlight problem, altima headlights, headlight switch

Question
What would cause the headlight on my 2002 Altima
to go out. It's not the replacement lamp inside
the headlight (I replaced the lamps). Sometimes
the driver side headlight will work, then sometimes the passenger side headlight will work
but I can't operate both headlights. I heard Nissan had a problem with the Altima headlights.
Also what would cause the heater to start blowing
cold air. Is it common to replace the thermostat
on 2002 Altima after 3 years?

Thanks

Aaron P.

Answer
The headlight switch would cause the problem with the headlights.  This is in the column and is what the stalk is attached to that activates them.

Three years for a thermostat is not too uncommon.  Check to see if the gauge is reading colder than normal and if it is that would be the thermostat.
