Nissan Repair: I have an 87 Nissan Maxima 3.0 4dr and cant seem to find one anywhere without having to buy the ball joints with it is this necessary?, ball joints, nissan maxima

Question
should i replace both when the ball joints are undamaged?

Answer
I assume you are talking about purchasing the lower control arms?  If this is the case they come with the ball joints.  If you are attempting to get the car aligned and the guy says you need ball joints I would go with it as the car is an 87 and with this age you probably need ball joints.  If you are getting strut cartridges installed and they already have the front end apart I would go with ball joints since the car will have to be aligned and if the ball joints turn out to be bad you will have to pay for a second alignment if they have to replace them later.
