Nissan Repair: starting, leo leo, fuel pump relay

Question
I have a Nissan Quest XE 1996.
I'm not able to turn on the engine. The battery works well and there 's no other signal on.
Today is ver cold (16 F). Is this the problem?
Yesterday I was driving and actived for a short period the OVERDRIVE fucntion. Is this also related to my problem.
I read something about that there is a fuel shut-off switch in this model. Is that the problem?
How to reset it?

Thanks Leo

Answer
Leo, does the engine crank?  If it does I would be checking to see that the plugs and wires are in good working order.  And, if it is in good tune the other area I would check is the fuel pump relay.  I would not think a fuel cut off switch would activate unless the car was bumped hard or if it had been in an accident.  So, go back to the basics.  When an engine will not run it is usually fuel or electrical.  First, we need to figure out if you have spark and gas and we can go from there.  Drop me a note back and let me know if the engine turns over and if you can hear the fuel pump when you turn the key to the on mode.  The pump is in the tank so you can get someone to turn the key on for you while you listen at the back of the car.  If you hear the pump you probably have gas.
