Nissan Repair: Can you help with Infiniti?, infiniti q45, shock absorbers

Question
I need to replace the front shock absorbers on a 1996 Infiniti Q45.  I can find a supplier for the shocks however, very difficult to find information on how to change the shock and all the part necessary to complete the change correctly. Can you assist?

Answer
Should not be difficult to replace unless your car is set up for the wired shocks.  If you replace them with standard units you simply tie off the wires so they do not short out.

Be sure to jack up the car and support the car with stands.  Then use the jack to support the lower control arm and then remove the shocks or the lower control arm will continue to travel down.  Thought I would mention this as the shock controls the limits of suspension travel.
