Nissan Repair: re 12/16 96 Sentra fuel pressure, 200 sx, fuel line

Question
Part of his question states he put on a new fuel filter and fuel is getting to this point but not beyond. I have similair situation, fuel to filter (new) but doesn't come out the other end. I have '86 200 SX. Have been trying to check to see if pump was not working by disconnecting fuel line above filter where it goes into the injectors and sticking line into a glass jar, then cranking engine to see if fuel comes out.
Lines are ok, fuses ok. Have checked everything I can think of. Thank you.

Answer
If your car is fuel injected the car does not have to be cranked.  Just turn the key on and the fuel will flow.  If you have fuel flowing to the fuel filter make sure that the filter is turned the correct way first.  If it is and no fuel is coming out at the injector rail check to see if someone or something has not crushed the fuel line between the filter and the rail.  I had a Corvette once that someone had jacked up and in doing so they crushed the fuel line and the car was hard to start and ran like crap.  But, take the filter out and make sure when you turn the key on that gas comes out there.  ALso, be sure to keep drop lights and such away and have a coffee can to catch the gas.  Have someone else do the ignition switch while you hold the hose in the can.  The fuel pump is under high pressure and will really squirt the gas far.
