Nissan Repair: 1996 Mercury Villager LS, mercury villager, b12 chemtool

Question
Hey Von,
I have a 1996 Mercury Villager (same as the Nissan Quest) and im wondering how do i clean out the fuel injectors and what can i do to clean out the carburetor besides taking it appart, cleaning and rebuilding it? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Answer
A 96 Mercury Villager same as a Quest is correct. The throttle body does not ahve to be taken apart to clean it. You can put Berrymans B12 Chemtool in the gas with a tank of super unleaded. On the throttle body you need a can of Berrymans Chemtool spray. Take the intake hose off and spray down the throttle plate. Yours has a air meter so you will need to keep the engine turned off when you spray down the throttle plate. Also, be sure to reconnect the hose and tighten it before you start the car. You will have trouble starting it at first but it will start after you suck the cleaner through the engine. Also, replace the PCV valve since your car is so old. Both of these things will make the engine run and idle much better.
