Nissan Repair: Brakes, wiring error, nisson

Question
My sons 91 Nisson Sentra is having a problem with the brake lights remaining on even when the car is not running. I assume it is a switch somewhere. If you could tell me where I should look and what I should look for I would appreciate it a lot. Is it possible that the brakes needing new pads would cause the lights to stay on? Thank you for your help.

Answer
John,

Not while the car is SHUT OFF.  This is a short somewhere.

Where you should start looking is around the tailight area.  If the brake booster has wiring to it I would also check this out.

Mine was doing the same thing.  But I found my wiring error around the battery.
