Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1989 olds delta 88, fuel pump relay, fuse box

Question
QUESTION: Car was running fine, as I approached my carport engine cut off.
Car will turn over but will not start, not even a momentary catch.
Battery is new and fully charged. Tank full of gas
About 3 yrs ago and less than 1000miles ago(i do not drive much as I am a paraplegic) had the fuel pump replaced or so I was told.
I looked for fuses under dash for fuel pump. Where is the relay and how can I check it?
I also checked wires to plugs and all appear intact and connected
Any thoughts please. Thank you

ANSWER: HI JIMBO, WELL THIS MAYBE HARD FOR YOU TO CK BUT WE NEED TO FIND OUT IF WE HAVE A FUEL PROBLEM OR IGNITION. AS FAR AS WHERE TO CK FOR THE RELAY IT WILL BE UNDER YOUR HOOD IN THE FUSE ,RELAY BOX. LOOK FOR A BLACK BOX WITH A COVER ON IT IS ABOUT 6X8 INCHES OR SO. LIFT THE COVER OFF AND LOOK UNDER THE TOP COVER FOR FUSE AND RELAY LOCATIONS. CK THE FUEL PUMP AND IGNITION FUSES, ALSO LOOK FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. YOU COULD TAKE THE SAME RELAY IN THE BOX AND SWITCH IT WITH THE FUEL PUMP RELAY JUST TO SEE IF IT WILL START THE CAR. IF SO YOU KNOW THAT RELAY WAS BAD.. NOW IF ALL OF THIS LOOKS GOOD YOU NEED TO CK FOR FUEL AND IGNTION..IT IS NOT THAT HARD I JUST DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN NOT DO AS FAR AS REACHING AND MOVING AROUND..BUT IF YOU THINK YOU CAN WORK AROUND THE ENGINE I CAN TELL YOU WHAT TO DO,IT IS NOT HARD WILL JUST TAKE SOME TIME...SO LET MEK KNOW IF YOU WANT TO DO THIS AND I WILL GET RIGHT BACK TO YOU AFTER YOU HAVE CHECKED THE ABOVE,,THIS GOES TO  MY PHONE.. LIKE TO HELP GET YOU GOING AGAIN !!!!! GOOD LUCK TO YOU,,,TOM

QUESTION: Thank you
Cannot locate mentioned box under hood? I saw the air filter box
also pulled a plastic cover fairing next to firewall, center to passenger center.

Answer
Hi Jimbo I'm so sorry about that I miss read your question I thought it read: 98 but yours isn't 89 Delta your fuse box in relay should be on the passenger side of thoe firewall when you open up the door.I think you are going to find it is not the relay ,more then likely it is a fuel pump, wiring or ignition fault..iknow the fuel pump is newer.but !!! I'm doing this from my phone so there may be some misspellings. check that out and get back to me. TOM
