Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: motor mount installation, buick skylark, brake caliper

Question
I picked up my '92 buick skylark from the mechanic the other day.  It has 132,000 miles on its 2.3L motor.  I took it there because it shakes in park, neutral, and reverse without an idle fluctuation though.  It also has a shifting/knock when put in reverse then drive. Lastly, the idle fluctuates, from a little above 1000 to a little below 1000, when coming to a stop sign while shaking too.  The mechanic could not find an idle problem, but mentioned that my drivers brake caliper bushing was missing and the upper motor mount was broken.

My first question.  What is the best procedure to remove the motor mount without jacking via the oil pan?  If I replace the two parts mentioned by the mechanic, and the noises continue, What would be my next step?  Transmission shop?

Answer
Hi
I would jack up engine under oil pan WITH a 2x4 or something to protect without damage (rubber pad etc...)
The proper way is to use an engine holding fixture which is a tool that attaches to strur towers and hooks to engine.
I use a jack and 2x4 block and I own a engine fixture!!
The caliper bushings will not have an effect on idle.
There are more than one mount, so I would then have it re-diagnosed.
I Hope this helps
